At Hound Hangout, we believe training your dog is one of the most important investments you can make in their happiness, safety, and overall well-being. Our approach is rooted in positive reinforcement, focusing on rewarding desired behaviors, building trust, and creating a positive learning experience for every dog.

Proper training builds clear communication between you and your dog, helping them understand what’s expected while reducing confusion and stress. A well-trained dog is less likely to develop problem behaviors like excessive barking, jumping, or aggression, making daily life more enjoyable for everyone.

Training also keeps your dog safe by reinforcing essential commands like “come,” “stay,” and “leave it,” which can prevent dangerous situations. Beyond obedience, it strengthens your bond, builds your dog’s confidence, and provides the mental stimulation they need to stay engaged and fulfilled.

All training classes are non refundable, private training sessions are paid for at time of booking and require 48 hours for resceduling, if dog shows major aggression or is overly disruptive in class they may be asked to leave at the trainers discretion.
Classes
Puppy Class
This is a great starter class for your puppy to gain confidence along with learning some basic commands. You will learn focus, sit, down, and more. It is important to socialize your puppy between 12 to 16 weeks to ensure your puppy is confident in any environment. A confident puppy has far less behavioral issues.
Puppies must be under 6 months old and have at least 2 vaccinations.
Puppy must be in your home for a minimum of 2 weeks.
Beginner Class
Whether you have just acquired a new dog or want to start training a dog you have had for a while, this is a starter class that will benefit both owner and dog. You will learn how to teach basic commands like sit, down, stay, and how to walk on a leash without pulling. This class will help socialize your dog as well as develop a strong bond between you and your dog.
Dogs must be over 6 months and must be up-to-date on vaccinations.
Dogs must be in your home for a minimum of 2 weeks.
Level 1
Now that your dog knows basic commands lets challenge them a bit more. This class offers a fun, safe way to socialize your dog as well as teach them some basic manners and expand on the basic knowledge that they have already acquired. You will learn leave it, waiting at doors, healing, and more.
Prerequisite for this class is Puppy or Beginners class or equivalent.
Vaccinations must be up to date.
Level 2
This class will challenge both dog and owner by learning more advance commands like: distance commands, moving downs, stand stay and more.
Prerequisite for this class is Level 1 or equivalent.
Vaccinations must be up-to-date.
Level 3
This is an even more challenging class where we will learn down on recall, stays out of
sight, as well as hand signals. If you want to have some fun with your dog both on and off leash, then this class is for you!
Prerequisite for this class is Level 2 or equivalent.
Vaccinations must be up-to-date.
Recall Class
A strong recall keeps your dog safe by preventing dangerous situations like running into traffic. This class will also strengthen your bond with your dog, build trust and give you the freedom to enjoy more off-leash adventures. Investing in recall training isn’t just about obedience, it’s about safety, confidence, fun, and a lifetime of better communication.
Vaccination must be up-to-date.
Puppy Social
Hour
We offer two puppy social hour classes. One for puppies under 20 lbs. and one for puppies over 20 lbs.
Socializing puppies in a safe, structured environment is important to build confidence as well as teaching proper play and manners.
This class is a drop in with a maximum of 10 puppies.
Trainer will be present to help with interactions.
Owners must stay with their puppies for this class.
All puppies must have at least 2 vaccination.
Drop in fee is $20.00
